Stabbing of man in

May 31st, 2011

A man is on the run in Maryland after viciously stabbing another.  The stabbing came after the two had an argument.

The stabbing occurred yesterday morning at approximately 1:30 a.m. in Dumfries.  Luis Jose Leon-Escobar, age 25 and from Gaithersburg, entered into what is being described as an intense and heated dispute with his victim.  Things escalated quickly and allegedly Leon-Escobar pulled out a large kitchen knife.  It was then that he started swinging and hit his victim multiple times in the arm.  He then fled the scene, the 16700 block of Shingle Oak Drive, near River Ridge Boulevard.

Emergency responders appeared shortly thereafter and transported the victim to a nearby medical facility where he was treated for multiple stab wounds in his right arm.  Though his injuries were extensive, he was subsequently released from the hospital later in the evening and expected to make a full recovery.  The identity of the victim is being withheld by authorities will the investigation is ongoing.

Police are searching for clues and asking anyone who may know the suspect or his whereabouts to contact them immediately.  While they have no photograph of Leon-Escobar to release to the public, he is described as the following: Hispanic, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, having a small build and weighing 130 pounds, with short black hair, and brown eyes.

Prince William police are expected to file multiple charges against Leon-Escobar and the victim may be wise to research a good Maryland personal injury lawyer lawyer to gain further retributions.
